Congrats George!
Had a customer send me a photo of his hobbs meter last week turning over 1000 hours, think he is something like 875 tach.

congrads,,,, potty broke, training wheels off, and corturoy paints on and all ready for school... while i was looking at the close of of the tack(great photo by the way) i started to wonder, what is the average idle speed and what would yall say was the Max idle on the 200 and 340..... thanks..... heres some answer to the idle question i once asked a few jokers,
if it doesnt blow your hat off with the prop blast, it isnt too high, then my favorite, with engine at idle, brakes on, and it skids less than 3 feet, the idle is ok. SO, numbers please,,,,,thanks....oh, am thinking 700 ish neighborhood.....
The number we shoot for when setting them up is 650 with roughly 25RPM rise when the mixture is pulled for shutdown.
If its on floats the lower the better as long as it runs smooth (within reason) so those might be 50-100 RPM lower depending on the engine.
That is hot idle. Keep in mind that is with the engine hot. It will be lower until the engine warms up, and it is not an absolute exact number as it can change with other variables (temp, alt, etc)
