    It does have a Garmin mode S transponder. Adding a vpx would be a huge undertaking requiring re-wiring the entire major parts of the electrical system. I'm not sure how this would change the panel space as you still need switches to turn things on/off and even if the breakers were eliminated there isn't the depth at the top of the panel for a com radio-it would hit structure behind the panel.

    The Becker is really terrible.
    Perhaps it is possible to add a mounting bracket just under the factory panel for a Garmin Radio.

    An SL30 or SL40 could be added below the panel. It would be an in-elegant solution but has been done before. You just have to be careful with fore/aft placement to avoid stick interference.
