A Foreflight subscription buys you the license to use it on one iPad and one iPhone at the same time. I use Foreflight on the iPad when I'm flying the C-172, and on the iPhone when I'm in the Sport Cub. I find the iPad a little too bulky and awkward in the Cub's cockpit, and given the capability of the Garmin 496 in the panel, and given that the Cub is VFR-only anyway, the small format of the iPhone is not much of a detriment.

No issues. Everything I run will adjust to the screen orientation.

Intially I had issues of losing the signal in flight. I emailed Foreflight and they resolved it for me. The wi-fi and airplane mode must be in the off postition when you are in flight or away from wi-fi unless you have cell service .
