The lower-elevation terrain of eastern Washington State looks boring on the chart -- but it is anything but boring from the air, especially from Cub altitudes. It's called the "Channeled Scablands," hundreds of square miles of unique terrain features carved by the cataclysmic floods of prehistoric Lake Missoula.
