Ruff take off Zero IAS
Was in the AZ backcountry the other day and landed at Red Creek, a dirt strip 50 miles up the Verde River in the boondocks. The takeoff was very ruff so I pulled all flaps on to lighten the wheels and my indicated airspeed was zero for some time while in ground effect. The temperature was in the 90s, density altitude estimated 4000 MSL, no wind, the strip is aprox 800' downhill takeoff and uphill landings over a small bluff.
What do you do on ruff takeoffs? I have 850s so assume bushwheels would be better? Zero IAS was a suprise when viewing the video.
