Need help filling out AOPA Aircraft Information on Carbon Cub

I need help filling out information on AOPA's site. Aircraft information needed to include Carbon Cub in AOPA's Flight Plan tool.

I'm still a bit puzzled by 'FAA Designator' myself. Technically the aicraft is a CC11-160 but when I get VFR flight following I have yet to have the controller recognize that designation.

Clay, know anything about this?

Thank you. With the manual I was able to fill out the information.

There is one thing I find confusing....The manual states the plane's cruise speed at 8,000-ft is 105-miles per hour @ 80-hp.

However on CubCrafter's website, under their "Safety & Performance" tab, they have this line: "Maximum continuous speed of 138 miles per hour." How is this attained, and what is the fuel consumption at this rate? Also, does flying at this speed affect the MTBO of 2400-hrs?

The ICAO designator is "PA11" I think I have used this on flight plans before.

That may not be the same as the FAA designator but I think what they are basing that designation on is runway needed for takeoff/landing, climb rates, and cruise speeds.

I think PA-11 was used for the original Piper Super Cub...nevertheless, I use it. Does anyone use anything else?

Yep -- as far as ICAO and ATC are concerned, all CC11s are "PA11". The closed-cowl Legend Cubs are also "PA11", while the open-cowl Legends are "J3".

That said, looking at Flightaware it appears that when I've called ATC for Class C service or flight following, they've tagged me with everything from "PA11" to "PA12" to "PA18".

PA-11 was the "Cub Special" -- basically a J-3 with closed cowl and a gas tank in the left wing. Over 1,500 were built from 1946 to 1949, with 65 hp standard and 90 hp optional beginning in 1948.
