Default Converting CC340 to fuel injection?

Hello all from a forum newbie,

Myself and a friend just acquired a 10 yr old EX kit (#0107) that is about 60% complete. As we finish the build, we would like to convert from the provided Marvel carb to fuel injection.

I see 2 issues to consider with this change:

    - the fuel injection control is longer than the carb by 7/8", possibly requiring a modified airbox (if it fits at all).
    - would need to add 2 electric fuel pumps on separate electrical busses (primary and boost).

Has anyone else done this upgrade to the CC340?

(PS - my friend is also on the forum now - "pstarbard")

    Thanks,
    Dave Rich

You'll need a different rear accessory case for an engine driven fuel pump. Considered full injection when building my EX-2 but decided against it. Conversion to injection presents 2 more failure points - boost and engine fuel pumps. Modern carburetors work well. I routinely fly at 10K to 12K in the mountains with no issues. Also, fuel selector stays on "Both" and with electronic ignition hand prop is easier in the event of a dead battery. Keep it simple.
