    Default Empty weight

I am *very* interested in the Sport Cub S2 but am somewhat confused about the weight specifications. Specifically, on the performance Order From, at the bottom, it states " ...S2 empty weight MUST be 890 lbs or less to be certified as S-LSA..." (I want the SLSA). But, on the Specifications sheet the Empty weight is listed as 832 lbs. Why the 58 lb difference?

(I weigh 225 and my wife weighs 145 so with 145 lbs of fuel we seem to be pushing the limits)

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

There are many options, and many of those add weight. Play around with adding them and you will see where the 58 could go if you are determined.

The basic airplane will weigh 832 lbs. You can add options up to 890 lbs and still stay S-LSA. If you have to have options that will put you over 890, then you have to go E-LSA.

The form on the computer computes the estimated weights as you click the boxes. The total weight and price boxes change as you check/un-check boxes.

FYI, there will likely be a base price increase for 2011 on the Sport Cub S2 so might take that in consideration. As of this writing we have two slots left for 2010.
