Default Changing N-Number in GTX 345R Transponder

To personalize my little beauty, I have changed the N number of my FX3. It only took the FAA about a year to permit the change.
I have the Garmin G3X with the GTX 345R transponder. Anyone know how to change the broadcast N-number (flight ID)? Am I able to do this on my own?

"Some software loading and all configuration settings are performed in the configuration mode. To enter
configuration mode, hold down the MENU key while powering on the GDU 4XX, the Configuration Mode
    page appears.
After all configuration changes have been made, use the Save & Reboot (Section 29.4.33) button to save
all changes and return to normal mode."

There is a Transponder selection in the menu. Look there to change N number.

    Thanks, worked perfectly.
No need to visit the local avionics shop. No equipment needed.

You can also load new firmware yourself. Garmin makes the PC based loader available to experimental aircraft owners.
