Fuel pressure sensor problem Garmin G3X

FX-3, 450 hrs, had fuel spraying out the fuel pressure sensor like a sprinkler. Smelled fuel in the cabin while flying. Lucky no fire despite fuel dripping off the exhaust pipe.
Several hours prior to this incident the fuel pressure fluctuated to the extremes and then abruptly became non-functional with a red "X" on the G3X. I was able to remove the sensor and replace it with a cap obtained from an auto parts store. It got me back in the air and ultimately home.
I have now place the new fuel pressure sensor (Garmin G3X manifold pressure 30 PSIA 1/8-27 NPT sensor #494-30004-01) which is an exact replacement. The original wire harness (3 wires) snapped right into the new sensor. After start up the leak is gone.
Now the issue....I still have a red "X" for fuel pressure on the Garmin G3X.
What have I done wrong?

A couple of suggestions;

1) That is the incorrect sensor. The original sensor should have been a SP71343‐001 (494-30004-02) 0-50 psi sensor. Later builds have a SP71343-003 (011-04202-20) 0-75 PSI sensor.

2) it is probably red-x'd due to the incorrect sensor. If you change the sensor, the G3X needs to be told what type of sensor it now has. (see example re-programming procedure below to change from 50 psi to 75 psi.

3) the 30 PSI sensor should be changed for a 75 psi, give our parts team a call or email parts@cubcrafters.com (509-367-5201

4) There isn't a requirement to change from the 50psi to the 75, but if you need to change the sensor it is suggested. You won't see 50 psi in normal operation, but in some cases, after shutdown and heat soak it is possible in rare instances it may over pressure the 50 psi and damage it after the engine is off.
