Question High gph at max power (takeoff) - showing yellow

Lately I'm seeing the GPH on the G3X highlight in yellow during takeoff with around a 18.5 gph reading. Any ideas why and is this normal or a problem?

What does your engine manual say? At full power, engines are at max fuel flow as you know.

I'm guessing here as I do not have the newer IO363, but that 18.5 gph sounds about right.

I'm sure others (Dave, Andy,....) will provide some insight here that are flying this engine.

    Dan,

Thanks for the reply. I checked the POH and can't find any numbers for the fuel flow ranges. They are somewhere as someone configured them for the G3X. I did a google search on the IO-360 and found some interesting posts but nothing saying what's right or wrong. I found Andy's post on this subject some time ago:

    https://forum.cubcrafters.com/showth...ower-fuel-flow

I don't lean for takeoff and the POH says full rich for takeoff/landing. I recall a TacAero training video with FlightChops where the CFI said "mixture set" and they didn't touch it. I know I could lean it for takeoff but I'm not at that point and maybe this fuel flow rate is nothing to be alarmed about other than the $$$ flowing faster.

As turbopilot pointed out in the above thread, the frustration with the FX-3 is the lack of manuals and info to educate a pilot and make a safe pilot/owner of a FX-3 aircraft. My frustrations to date have been lack of info in my efforts to assure my safety in my new airplane.

Concerning the lack of info from CC, it is no different for the EX-2.

Flew an hour last night and did not see the issue on takeoff.
