    Default Headers wiring vs flaps push rods movements

    Hello everyone,


    I have problems visualizing the movement of the flaps control rods at this stage of the construction, and so I’m not sure how to finish the wiring of the two headers, and positioning of the harness to avoid any friction.


    On the right, I positioned the ELT remote ctrl, but looking at the flap rod, I wonder if I made a mistake…


    Do you have pictures of your wiring installations in both headers so I can see what solutions you have adopted?

    you are right. Don’t secure any of those wires now in the headers as I say in my thread. Leave them all loose for now until you actually install your flaps/rods/fuel lines etc in the headers.

    Hi Yves,

    We do not use an ELT remote, however on the builds I have seen where the builder opted to add one, it is usually is turned sideways rather than vertical for clearance on the flap rod.

    oops. Sorry Yves. I didn’t see the part about your Elt remote. I was just thinking the wiring in general. It’s really hard to tell how that flap rod orients in there until the flaps are hooked up. Also, it moves vertically as you raise or lower the flaps.

    That’s where I put my remote switch too. I wanted it on the egress side and up where a passenger could turn it on easily also. The little black Kydex cover directly above the elt switch is there because I didn’t think ahead, unlike you. 😀

    The white object to the left of the switch is the carbon monoxide detector.

    Question to everybody: did you had mistake in the harness made by CC ?
    I'm testing my wiring, and the fist one is wrong

    I just spent a week wiring and trusting the harness that CC prepared.
    So I was wrong... so I’m going to start all over again and test all the harnesses before starting again....

    My FX-3 was built with left and right stereo channels reversed to front and rear headphones. CC corrected my aircraft but, to the best of my knowledge, never issued a service bulletin to alert owners of all the previous aircraft that had left/right channel reversal. (There was a CC drawing error).

    A related question, having been supplied with pre-drilled holes for upper circuit breakers in the left side door header, I now find these circuit breakers are in conflict with the flap control rods and to a lesser extent, the fuel quantity placards. My lower CB row is similar to the second photo attached here. Are there photographs out there of a successful placement of side mounted CB's on the door headers - either LHS or RHS?
