Default Speed Penalty of Belly Pod

What kind of speed penalty is anyone experiencing with a belly pod in typical cruise?

As near as I could tell, I seemed to gain about 2 knots with the pod.

A lot of pod discussion here https://forum.cubcrafters.com/showth...ght=Belly+pods

Having recently removed my pod after several years I would say no change in speed on my installation. I’ve never heard anyone say it slowed them down and some say a minor increase. For me I’d call it neutral.

Interesting that the speed penalty might be neutral. Amazed that there might be an increase.

Agree with other posters. I have the Lewaero belly tank. Certainly no loss in cruise speeds. Maybe a slight increase depending on power setting. No difference in cabin CO levels on or off. The only real penalty to have the tank on and not regularly used is 22 lbs of extra weight. Takes about an hour to get it on and it comes off in less than 10 minutes.

I don't have speed refs but I use the CarbonConcepts pod. I don't know the exact weight but it's very light.
