    Can't answer the Garmin question.

From the EarthX web you can access the fault codes. Go to Documents/Manuals.

It seems the possible flash rates are 5 sec on 5 sec off, and 2 sec on 2 sec off. The ignition alerts respond far faster than that so probably not an issue. Should be easy to test by manually grounding the alert discrete to match the flash rates.

    Thanks,

That'd be great. We've just installed our third Odyssey battery, and will look forward to something better next.

Can you do anything to fix the issues of battery draw while the aircraft is off? I pulled the fuse on the inconvenient "convenience" light in the rear that constantly takes power, but there still seems to be something beating up the battery. When the mains are off, shouldn't there be no draw?

The GPS antenna for an ABS-B system has a keep-alive hot wire going to it. Minimal draw but it is continuous.

EarthX web site list the dimensions of their batteries.
Hi Dan…finally got tired of replacing batteries every 2 years and ordered EarthX ETX680C for my CCEX. I noted on page 19 of the battery manual a caution that says “Installation of the battery in the cockpit is not recommended unless the battery is properly vented overboard” Did you vent the battery in the under seat location, and if so, how?

    Thanks

What battery are you using now and what are the recommendations for venting it?

Nothing in the installation instructions mentions venting

The experimental ETX680C is a sealed battery and cannot be vented.

The ETX680-24-VNT is vented (and is 24V).

So to answer your question, my battery cannot be vented.

Panton VT is a nice place. I use to live in North Ferrisburg and work in the Vergennes area. Black Sheep Bistro was my favorite.

thanks Dan. That makes it easy Good answer!

Yes, little piece of heaven here. 1700 x90’ grass strip with departure over the lake (47VT). When I was growing up in Bennington Vt, Vrtgrnnes was known as the place with the reform school. Now it’s a foodie destination.
