Replace the tail strobe with LED??

My tail strobe is not working, rather than spend $500 on a new tube, seems like its time to upgrade. Has anyone replaced replaced the Whelen A470A with a drop in LED replacement? The problem seems to be black clamping ring - it doesn't seem like any of the LED retrofits have a lip for the clamping ring to attach to:Attachment.pngIMG_2434.JPGor360-rw.jpg

Has anyone done this upgrade? What was your solution?
