    Default Available GEA 24 inputs

I found the G3X Touch Installation Manual pin data for the GEA 24 GP ports to be conflicting and confusing so I decided to map the available pins directly to the connector drawings.

The attached files may be of use to anyone else who is planning to add signals to the GEA 24 interface. Available pins/ports are based on CC G3X schematic and have not yet been verified by inspection of the actual connectors. Please let me know if you see any errors.

Andy, thanks for taking the time with this detail on the J243 and J244 Garmin connectors.

From the note on the J244 connector: "Unlike the J243 GP inputs, they (J244 GP inputs) can also be used for active high discretes without needing an additional ground link." Is the resistor needed in both active high and low?

In the EarthX and BMS thread you commented:
"You should check the voltage of the fault signal line from your battery. If it is zero volts when the battery is not faulted than you will need a pull up resistor somewhere on the line. It doesn't matter whether it is at the battery end or the GEU end."

I'm looking at GP5 (J244) with pins 31 and 50 and a 5K pull up resistor between for my EarthX BMS indicator warning because the no fault voltage is 'zero'.

Pull up is only required for active low according to Garmin documentation. (If active high needed a pulling resistor it would be to ground - pull down)

That should work. I have revised my J244 drawing to annotate pin 50 as "GP +12 V".

If you open the connector before I do please let me know if the pins shown in my drawing are actually unpopulated and available.

I'm working on an EX, not EX2/3, so my GEA 24 would be pinned a bit differently. My engine is the CC340 180HP not the CC363i 186HP /w constant speed prop and fuel injection differences available on EX2/3s.

J243 has pins 1-4, 9-11, 14, 18, 21, 22, 25-29, 34,35 unpopulated. The pins you highlight GP6, 30 and 31 are used in my J243 connector so I assume it's for carb temp?? All other you've color highlighted are available.

    J244 has pins 1-17, 21, 23, 24, 26, 27, 29-39, 44, 50 unpopulated.
