    Default FUSELAGE - going on

    Cargo compartment floor will be covered by fire-resistant synthetic protection.

    The outside of the cargo compartment aluminium plates are protected by yellow aviation grade primer. The inside will receive a grey coating:

    Great progress! What covering method do you plan on using? You will love the plane, I'm little over 200 hours and the plane is performing well in the mountains altitudes and now summer DA's.

    Impressive workmanship!. Using lasers to assure alignment is a good idea. And even wearing official Cubcrafters shirts while building (which I suspect is the most expensive shirt in your wardrobe).

    I had to stop work for various family and health reasons. But everything is back in order and now here is a small update of my construction.

    The bootcowl was completed quickly and without much difficulty. Dave’s detailed explanations were very helpful.

    I opted for a «Wold-VFR» panel and therefore there is no trim position indicator. With the help of my friend Luc, we made a small modification. There is now an indicator consisting of 3 diodes that works perfectly and is discreetly integrated into the panel. The source of the information consists of a small plate covered with poximity-switch placed parallel to the trim screw.

    The battery-box has been reinforced and the battery is strapped.


    The ELT is a KANAD and is located below the seat. However, the base of the antenna will be reinforced by copper bands according to Dave’s advice.

    The empennages have been covered with with no major problem. The first coat of Poly-Brush was applied with a brush and not with a spray-gun.

    To cover the wings, I built a wing-rotator according to the plans of CC, with just a few small modifications to be able to easily disassemble it.
