Installing these stupid fairleads is one of the most frustrating operations. I ran all over the workshop after those damn clips that were flying around. I finally modified a plier, and the problem was solved.

I see that I’m much slower than the majority of you. But, it’s my first build, I take my time, and due to the pandemia, so far, I have been really alone to build. My friends will come to help when vaccinated which will be soon the case.

But no so alone… I had the visit of Rick ! He was like the Arizona’ sun entering my workshop! He came with some “indispensable” items to help the build: cap and tee-shirts !
But more seriously, he especially gave me very important tips like the SB on jury struts.

Before I started the right wing, I wrapped the left in plastic film to protect it, and I installed it on homemade stands.

I also had my first inspection visit from a delegate of the Italian administration.

Piero wisely pointed out to me that a much more precise way to control the horizontality of the front spar and the twist of the wing is not a digital level...

    nor a laser…

but the good old and simple method of water level !

The left wing is ready for covering I’m working now on the right one.

    To be continue….

great idea on the pliers! I also really hated those things and lost several which flew off only to be found weeks later.

    Hello Yves,
    Following your build with excitement.
I'm considering to buy a kit that would also need to be shipped via container to my location. Did you run into any limitation when it comes to what can shipped like flamable liquids for the fabric covering etc?
    Regards
    Jan

    Hi Jan,

Except the battery and the ELT, everything was in the crate, including all Poly-Fiber products.
The set-up of the crate and the shipping took a long time, but we can understand that logistics is very difficult for the moment. The pressure on CC is heavy to satisfy everybody and they are working hard on that, it's obvious.

The packaging is very strong and the labelling are very well made.
I received today a package that is a correction on few mistake made on the inventory.
The shipping this time took less than a week from US to EU.

My overall satisfaction is very good.

Thanks for your reply. This is great to hear. Was that a logistical reason that those have not been included or something about transport safety?

I agree they are doing a great job with the kit and the logistic from what i can tell. Wherever i see people giving feedback they seem very positive about Cub Crafters.
