    Default XCub Questions

What Make and Size battery is being installed on the XCub with the 393i engine?

What is the TBO on the 393i engine?

We have had good operational success with the IO-390 test aircraft using the same battery as the XCub currently ships with when equipped with the Lycoming O-360.

Thank you, but regretfully that did not answer either of my questions. I tried, but could find no mention of what size and make of battery is currently shipping with the XCub and Lycoming 0-360.

I do find on the Lycoming site, that the 0-390 has a recommended TBO 0f 2,000 hrs. , but I do not know what differances are on the 393i as used by CubCrafters. and if Lycoming is still claiming TBO at 2,000 on that engine or not?

The IO-390 (393i) TBO has not been published by Lycoming yet, but I anticipate it will be similar to the currently published TBO for the IO-390 -A and -C (2,000 hrs with two possible extensions of 200 hours if certain criteria are met).

The XCub battery in use on production aircraft is a FAA-PMA'd sealed lead-acid battery, Enersys SBS-J16, can be ordered through CubCrafters Support
