    Default FX-3 Height in T-hangar?

Could anyone give me the approximate height from ground to top of wing for an FX-3 with 29" bush wheels? I'm looking at a T-hangar for sale and am wondering if the wing would hit the metal ceiling (obviously I wouldn't buy the hangar if that's the case).

    Thanks in advance.

Mine (EX-2) is about 84" with 3*3 and 22" tyres. The propeller will be higher if at the 6 o'clock position and the com antenna also a little higher unless you use a bent whip or bottom mounting.

So 29" tyres would put it about 4.5" higher and standard gear 3" lower.

    John -

If you do end up with a T-hangar, you may want to fabricate some stands to keep the plane level in the event of a flat tire. Opening the hangar to a flat tire sucks. Opening it and seeing a wing up against the ceiling really sucks.

FX3, 3x3; 31” tires....in 3 point is 84” to top of wing; 87” to top of fuel vent on fuel cap. Antenna lower than that (in 3 pt stance)

Many thanks for the info, gents! It appears the FX-3 will fit in this hangar.

It'll be tight, as the top of the wing (with vortex generators) looks to be around 83" and the pivot linkage of the hangar is at about 90" - which gives about 7" to spare on the Port-A-Port hangar I'm looking at.

    Regards to all,

Looks good, John! Dont forget the other dimension I gave you; 87" from floor to top of the fuel vent tube, which is the highest point on the wings.
Looks like that 90" low spot on the hangar will not be over the fuel tank anyways, so you do have 7" of room. Should be good!

Thanks to all for the tips and measurements. I went ahead and got the hangar at KHSG; needs a little touchup but the price was right and I won't have the FX-3 for a while anyway (between now and delivery I'll likely be prepping the hangar like a momma decorating the baby's new room).

Mike, that's a good idea about some kind of tire stand in case of a flat. I'm thinking standard car jack stands might do the trick.

    Best regards,
