Does anyone have pictures of the interior of the EX3/FX3 bottom cowl showing the setup for the air induction and the alternate air?
I am reworking an EX2 cowl for my fuel injected engine and could use some guidance.
Thank you,
David

I looked and for some reason, I didn't take pictures after I hooked everything up to the cowl but here are a few pics that might help. You can see the alternate air hose that comes from the air filter (the piece you have) with the butterfly goes on a round mount on the right side just forward of the #1 exhaust pipe. The hose just attaches to that front air filter piece and goes to the round mount. In the event the air filter gets stopped up, the butterfly opens and it just pulls air from inside the lower engine cowl area.
In this photo, you can see it just to the right of that forward exhaust tube and in front of the rear of the alternator? So the hose just connect to this end and takes air from the area there just behind the right side exhaust pipes and the other end attaches to the air filter area.

Is this piece now integrated in to the lower cowl at the factory or?

Pete,
Do you have a picture of the inside of the EX3 lower cowl?
I need to do some surgery on mine.
Thank you,
