Thanks. I actually did it with a little help from my local sign shop (whom I’ve used for almost 40 years.

The basic design is a CC scheme with the break in the colors and the tail art (distressed flag) is carbon fiber look vinyl. I took a flag design from the internet and we changed and scaled it to fit. Same flag I used on the entire fuselage of ‘Ol Glory.

‘MERICA is a chip off of it.

    Dave hi
Thanks for all your valuable information
I just started my EX3 build and have a question regarding the aft spar trammeling fixtures - does the shorter side point downward - they do make it clear on the Front spar but not on the aft one.

hey. Congratulations! The fun is just beginning.

If you are referring to the fixtures that the drag wires/tubes go through then that is correct. They all go with the short side downward for both the forward and aft spars.

    Dave Thanks
The most fun was getting the inventory counted - They really should supply a spreadsheet with linked photos.
I was lucky to have worked in a spare parts dept. as a kid so that helped a lot.

The problem is that the inventory is incomplete and that we discover missing parts as the construction progresses. Most of the parts that Dave reports missing in his descriptions were also missing in my kits, and others in addition. Reading all of Dave’s texts is sometimes more important than reading the manuals. Fortunately, Pete is here to help too!

Agree. Unfortunately it sounds as if CC hasn't improved any on this issue.

Same as when I was building, did my inventory found something missing, contact CC, part sent out to me.

Problem was in the hardware boxes. I would inventory that I revieced the box, but not actually count the nuts/bolts/washers/...... which could lead to frustration during the build as something was missing.

Yes, depending on when you got your kit (serial number), there could be more or less missing parts. Pete and CC has done a great job on updating the manuals and packing lists (Bill of Materials) on the most recent kits. My last kit was serial number 94 and it was much improved. I’ve been updating this forum thread on each build to keep it updated with the latest manuals and materials.

The engineering on these airplanes is simply amazing. Everything fits and flies great!

    Julian,

Are you referring to the spar jig for drilling the holes for the leading edge skins? Looks like they are now sold here. https://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/d...aspx?id=AE1145

The EX2 skins are not pre-drilled holes (at least not when I built mine) so the jig is useful for drilling them out. However, the EX3 skins are factory drilled in the right location. Like I wrote in the post #22, if you insure the skins are flush with the bottom of the spar when you match drill into the spar, the jig isn’t needed.

Check out this post #3 and look at the bottom at the attachments. There is a very good excel spreadsheet list of tools, cost and where to buy that is a great help. https://forum.cubcrafters.com/showth...ll=1#post21578
