The CC340 has been conformed to ASTM standards by CubCrafters and that is why/how it carries our data plate. For that reason it can't be built outside of CubCrafters. Also, it includes several proprietary parts that help take fairly significant weight out.

You could build a Titan 340 in the Engine Builder Assist Workshop that was similar, and it could be used in a Carbon Cub EX kit, but it would be a bit heavier. I'm not sure if it would save you any money or not.
