    Default Seat belt crotch belt?

Really interesting discussion over on Supercub.org about seat belts. Has anyone put a 5th point crotch belt in, and where did you anchor it if so?

    thx

I can't remember installing one in the Carbon Cub, but we have in the Top Cub. It required additional attachments welded on the fuselage before assembly.

Check out your Carbon Cub N922CC. I flew it during the Summit, and it has the crotch belt in it.

We did a Schroth 5 point for our Xcub customer in Michigan. Stan Franz at CCS in the factory can speak to the placement of the mounted front cam buckle. The rest I believe were in the normal location, 1 on each side and the shoulder retract real was in normal spot. MK

Mark is right: standard anchor locations for the shoulder and lap harnesses. The 5th requires some forethought... an anchor is welded on the structural member that crosses the fuselage beneath/aft of the stick yoke. We have to do it before cover.

Easy on a steel seat frame to attach to top front tube. Don't know what would work sitting on a pile of carbon? The crotch belt does a few things, keeps you from submarining out the bottom but it also keep the lap belts low where it should be to work and in keeping the lap belts low its more comfortable in turbulence. And the rotary make it all go together in seconds

Would like to resurrect this thread to see if there's been any updates.
I have a FX3 with a four-point factory restraint system. I find the buckle rides up onto my abdomen on a regular basis and is not properly positioned. I was thinking about placing a crotch strap for the sole purpose of keeping the buckle down across my hips where it belongs. Does anybody have an idea where to get such a strap? I was thinking to just screw it to the seat not for the strength this crotch strap would provide, but merely to keep the buckle in proper position.
