Sad that all sport cubs and CC don't make half the heat that a 77 year old 85hp J3 makes. It's nice to see that the FX3 has better heat but what about the couple hundred + SS and CC blue lipped flyers still stuttering while flying? We have 6 months of winter and 6 months of rough sledding around here most years and my CC friends shake till the 4th of July

Saying an aviator would be comfortable with a j3 heater at 10 below sounds like a Obama story to me.

Try the "Warming Store" for a battery operated jacket. Works great and last up to ten hours if you buy the larger battery pack.

Yea, but this does something. 110f air flows out of this above 2200 rpm all day long. Not only flew 5 hrs at that temp but did it without gloves

This setup in my 0200 Cub will roast you out at zero if left on full

The thread on the super cub site Scouters rear seater on New year's day flight said about his CC flight " coldest day of my life ". Now if warm blooded Chuck said that we would discount it like most of his post but this is a quote from a life long Mainer who swims and snowmobiles in Maine.

I prefer the 7v battery systems with the extended life battery. It is more flexible in use and I use the cigarette lighter plug for a heated seat insert in the plane.
