Garmin G3X Software Rev 5.40 & 5.50 - Airspeed Indication Issue

Folks,

One of our customers recently updated their G3X software to revision from 5.30 to 5.50 and found a nasty surprise. Apparently, beginning with rev 5.40, the airspeed doesn't start indicating till 30mph. If you're flying your Carbon Cub near the edge of the envelope, this is a potential problem. Garmin has recognized the problem and has indicated that they will correct it on the next software revision. In the meantime, they have provided us with a link to 5.30 for those who have already updated and would like to revert. If you need 5.30, please email me (see address in my signature) and I'll send you the link.

Folks,
I just received an email from Garmin with two important details:
- Retrograding to 5.30 will reset all user settings to default. This may or may not be a big deal, depending on how much you've "tweaked" your setup.
- This issue will be fixed with rev 5.60. Garmin expects to release it in a week.

So, if you have 5.40 or 5.50 and can live with the airspeed indication for a week or so, it makes sense to just wait for 5.60.
