Got Carbon Cub some time on it after it's annual and flew to Island Bobs to extract the Old J3. Gave it a wash, now ready for a dunk in the Hudson River and a trip to the Adirondacks. Better late than never.

So had a chance to get out last night to the Adirondacks with a few friends, to an awesome remote spot to just unwind if only briefly. Left the Sacandaga Lake at 7:07 and arrived just about 8. Great branch of one of our well know creeks here. Had some chow, a beer or 2 and a swim wth the Brooke trout. Hard to beat this anywhere. Cub Driver2 and some others enjoyed the fun.

Today invited over to Murphy's Warbirds. A well know P51 driver and instructor nationaly he had a special project for me to see. The only Spitfire MKI in the country. It can't be anything but cool. It was hot! Literally! This was the prototype for all the Spitfires to come after. As such, it has just one small radiator and one small oil cooler. It can't be taxied or idled as it overheats quickly. Fun end to the day.

So a terrific weather weekend started with Breakfast at the Sap House in Sharon Springs, NY. A trip Brody had not been on yet. It may be the last of the year on skis and that’s a shame. It’s a great value at $7 all ya can eat. Anyone with a teenager can relate. The Moose Eats! A lot!

I like that cap better.
Got out n about today with bright blue skies, temps in the single digits and smooth as glass. Left the airport at 6:30am with Brody and skis and flew NW over Great Sacandaga, Piseco, then Black Creek Lake (the boys and CubDriver2 were there Saturday)and then on to Snow Ridge in Turin, NY where we landed on the 1500’ snowmobile drag strip that was manicured smooth the night before with a snow cat.
Watched some ski racing and then snowmobile drags too. By 3:30 we packed up 18FX and grabbed a tail breeze and we’re home in half the time. I’d like to take the group to this great little place as part of a western Adirondacks trip. Great day 3 ways! MK
