    Default 3 inch Extended Gear

    Hi guys,
I知 building an experimental PA-18 and researching some of your accessories. I知 checking out your 3 inch Extended Landing Gear pictures on the website. Could I ask what the width of your Top Cub CC18-180 landing gear is before you add the engine weight. I知 looking for the width you build into the gear before the airplane sits level with all the weight. I appreciate your time.
    Thanks,
    Paul

After bouncing around NE WA and Northern Idaho this weekend with many off airport landings, I sure would like to have approved 3" extended gear on my S1!!!!!

George, I believe all the S1's came from the factory with extended gears, ie 3" longer than the standard PA-18 gear. Check with CC. If height is what you want, install 29" tires.

When I bought #18 I also came away believing that they all had the longer gear.

I didn't know that, if that is the case I would still like an 3 inch additional extension! I would like to replace my 850s with at least 26" tires but I would have to go EX and would not be able to instruct. I have been shedding weight and am close to making it happen.

I know that my buddy's CC rebuilt super cub and my other buddy's Carbon X both have gear extended greater than mine along with bigger tires and have far greater ground clearance!

    Ain't it fun!

Steve H. why don't you jump in here and verify of the S1/S2 has 3" extended gear over the PA18 stock? Also can we upgrade to the CCSS extended landing gear?

    Thanks my friend,

Stock gear for Sport & Carbon Cub is the same size as Super Cub Gear. The Top Cub is the one with the built in 3" larger gear.

As of right now, there are no upgrade options for the LSA aircraft as analysis/testing would need to be completed first. The extended would also be a bit heavier, and you know how critical weight is for LSA...

I知 looking for the width you build into the gear before the airplane sits level with all the weight. The best measurement would be bolt to bolt from the cabane down to the axel. I appreciate your time.

An unloaded shock strut is 31" long-is this what you're looking for?
