I looked at the first set of parts yesterday. We have to tweak one of the covers, but I expect to be ready to ship the first set this week.

Wondering what the latest is on these cover plates? I think my O-340 is one that has the glued on plates but haven't seen any serial number or model lists.
I looked in the Owner Support area before posting this to see if there was anything there.
Thanks.
Flying Carbon Cub EX #11 since 2011
Bill,
All Carbon Cubs up through s/n 293 had the adhesive covers.
Folks, I expect to be able to start shipping kits next week. It would be helpful if I had an idea of how many people wanted to order immediately. If that's you, please email me at jond@cubcrafters.com.
Thanks, guys

We do not have a serial number list of affected kit planes due to the fact that the engine order sometimes follows the airframe kit much later.
Dan, Mitch says you almost certainly have the glued on covers on your plane. You can crosscheck this easily; if the plane has a bolt-on oil filter adapter or an oil screen, it will also have the glued covers.
The kit is now available. The p/n is SI0036-K and the price is $129. We have two kits ready to go at present and will make more, based on demand.

Anyone getting ready to do this mod...peel off the covers ( carefully using a heat gun helps) Using a pencil type soldering gun helps tremendously in removing the glue from the bolt /stud holes..which is flammable! ( ask me how I know). Cover the inside of the holes before cleaning the threads. I made my plates before the SI10036k came out..installed mine wet with proseal....no leaks!

I have an extra set of plates. I would be willing to let them go for what the machinist charged to make a set, $295. Buyer pays the freight. You will also need to get a set of gaskets, but it will solve the leaking problem.
