Anyone know what battery installed in the FX?
Option to upgrade to Odyssey SBS-J16 battery is on the order form. I have the Odyssey PC680 in my CC now. Advantages of SBS-J16 over PC680?

Trying to mount my ELT and realized I need to coordinate it with the battery install. Since the FX3 has two batteries I am thinking the Earthx might be a good option due to its limited weight, smaller size, and perhaps better reliability than a typical lead acid. This might be an old question but it seems to be pretty important on the FX3 with dual electronic ignitions and battery reliability very important.
Here is my set up in my EX2.
Two EarthX ETX 680C batteries.
One is in the battery well and held in with velcro straps run through slots I added to the battery box. The straps run circumferentially under the battery box and around the battery. The second battery is in the space normally occupied by the ELT. This one is held in place by the battery box sold by EarthX.
I have leads attached to the batteries so I use an external charger on each individually.
The ELT is attached to the AmSafe airbag inflator bracket that comes from the factory welded in the ceiling on the right side behind the back seat.

That looks like a clean setup. I’m looking forward to hearing how the Earth X batteries perform over time in this application. As I’ve posted elsewhere on batteries, my lithium iron battery experience has not been good. The only battery that hasn’t let me down is the PMA Odyssey. And the list includes the PC 680 (two).

It is time for a new battery. I was wondering if the PTX14-BS is still the standard and the SBS-J16 is the recommended optional? Any recommendations?
