Default ORANGE CRUSH (EX-2) Finished and ready for her first flight!

Got my Airworthiness Inspection last week and as soon as I get the fuel tank covers on, it's time for the first lap around the pattern.

Can't thank Mitch enough for all his help and CC for an unbelievable plane/kit. The tolerances and precision for which CubCrafters designed and produced are outstanding. It took about 7-1/2 months (not counting vacations and hunting trips) and about 730 total hours of build time (excluding manual pre-reading/video watching, etc.)

Thanks to everyone on the forum for all their help (especially Chuck and Troy who were always willing to share and help)

    Congratulations!

    Looks great!

Q: Why did you decide to go with no covering on the landing gear? (I'm in the covering stage now on my eX-2)

    Thanks,

    David

Thanks David, I intend to do a lot of back country strips and decided to not cover the gear to keep it from getting torn up from rocks, etc. Used stainless steel brake lines as well since they are exposed now.

I like it Dave. Great looking paint scheme and there are no negatives to uncovered gear IMO.

Have fun! And report back after a few hours of flight.

Just returned from the first flight! What a blast. Everything went just perfect. They say to run it at 75% power but hard to do that. At 70% #3 & 4 were running around 420 CHT.....but I guess that's normal for break-in. Just hard to do. Haha.

    Little ORANGE CRUSH toast here.....
