4156V Gets new home
Today another Happy CubCrafters customer left for home. Karl and his 78yo father Pete drove from Ohio to purchase 4156V a week ago and today was delivery day.His dad is a retired airline captain and Karl flys a G5 for a company based in China.The father & Son duo are airplane fanatics and Piper diehards.They are by all accounts collectors and do restorations of some pretty cool stuff. In my mind the two of them are like peas and carrots.
While I did not have long to spend with them, I learned some things. I learned that a mutual passion for something builds a bond that can’t be broken or replaced. I learned that at 78, you can still have the fire in the belly for something and get the work done too.This man is restoring his Piper Cub that was his first airplane ever. I also learned that when you love something like these two love aviation, too much is never enough. I hope I can spend my later years with my son like this. Truly a gift.
