I think there was some discussion on the difficulty of hooking up the trim spring onto the elevator so I will share my story. On the first try two of us struggled with the hook up for about three hours with no luck. It ended with a slip of a tool and a hole in the elevator. Yes I completely stripped recovered and panted the elevator. Not a happy day. The second try we suspended both elevators on some wires as shown in the photos, easily hooked up the spring then installed the pins. Entire process took 15 minutes. Happy day. Maybe this will help others.
Smiddo,
Thank you for the post and the picture.
I called Mitch yesterday on this exact issue. I had done a dry run on this as I set up my cables prior to covering the fuselage. He said to do exactly as you described.
Also remember you are to tuck the end of the spring loop back under itself to lock it in place. Yet another challenge.

Don't forget to put the hook under itself so it cant come off....that isn't easy either.
