So I pulled the trigger and there is paint on the tail feathers. Mike I had your advice in my mind when I started but wanted to try the book process and do three coats in one session. It was ok but not great. So waited 6 days, lite sand and two more coats. Looks good. Not perfect but I'm happy. You can see my thumbs up in the photo. Thanks Mike. I knew you where right I just didn't want to believe it would take two sessions.

    Looks good!

Just curious, how much reducer did you use? I tended to go with the max amount recommended in the manual. That seams to make the Rantane flow out the best for me and lay down with very little orange peel. It probably why I could never complete coverage in one session!

    Keep the pictures coming!!

I used 3/1 and yes that (orange peel) is the one thing that I am not completely happy with. It is not bad but if you look at it close in the sun you can see it. I think you are the one that has the rotators for the tail? That would be so nice. As you can see I shot mine with a vertical surface and was worried about runs. I will defiantly ad more reducer with wings as I can lay the paint down on a horizontal surface. I also used a small amount of accelerator because my hangar is around 60 degrees or so.

    Thanks
    Greg

Wing done. What a slow process.

Lesson #254 on building an airplane... Screw small parts to cardboard BEFORE starting to paint or the paint gun will blow them onto the floor.

Get some expanded metal. The air blows through the mesh and does not lift the parts.

Some small mesh wire from Lowes or Home Depot also works well. (like "chicken wire" but they make it in like 2"x2" and only $15 for a whole roll)
