Default Yakima area flying suggestions and FX pick up

Well, delivery of my third Carbon Cub is fast approaching. I am supposed to take delivery of CCX-1865-0010 (N383W) during the week of February 22 and since it is an FX model, I will need to put 20 hours on her before heading back to Denver.

Does anyone know of any fun or cool places to fly to within 75 miles of YKM? 75 miles is what the FAA has imposed for test flights prior to a ferry flight. I would like to document these places for future FX customers.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

It is too bad I am 89 nm away from YKM but here are a few decent options. Be sure to keep an eye on the restricted military firing range space N E of Yakima, they are very serious about it.

Head north to S10 Chelan airport. Nice flight up the Colombia River past Wenatchee. Great flying around the lake right now. There are 100's of deer in the area right now and fun to watch from the air. I plan on being over there next Tuesday PM for about 3 days working and flying.

I just realized the direct link to Hermiston puts you into the Umatilla Chemical Weapons storage (also VERY restricted) stay North of the Columbia there. If you want flight following Chinook Departure/Approach is very accommodating.

Hood River, OR (4S2) has the Western Antique Aircraft & Automobile Museum

On the chart it is 67 nautical from YKM.
