Just FYI about Full service Fueling
We had a very near disaster on on trip. I very rarely let anyone fuel my plane. We were at a full service fuel and the attendant had been taught to turn fuel selectors to one side so they don’t cross feed during fueling. Welp they forgot to turn it back to both,we had no idea they had touched it. We put 30hrs on the planes in 4 days we were in out of the planes pretty fast trying to get them flown off before the girls got there. I had saw them in his plane but I thought they turned the IBBS off thinking he left the Master on. We were at about 100 AGL in the mountains when I hear (SomBitch just quit on me). I turned around and all I saw was trees and ravines. He had been right at my 5 o’clock. Need less to say my heart stopped. I made a turn and started climbing thinking I need to get altitude to radio for help,I was expecting to see him buried in the trees. When I cleared the ridge there he was sitting on the only plateau there was, full of giant rocks and he managed to get it between all of those and not tear the plane up. That’s when he noticed his fuel was on the left tank. 15 seconds before or after it would of been a mess.
No one will ever put fuel in my plane again! Should we have run a check list (yep). But no one should ever touch someone’s airplane with out asking pilots permission ESPECIALLY Anything to do with the fuel. I never would of dreamed someone would do that. If I turn my fuel selector I hang my key on it so I know it’s not on both.

I heard one of the local shooting ranges had a great brunch. So we decided to go check it out. We weren’t sure where we were gonna land, ended up having 600’ Of grass in the camping area and plenty of room between the golf carts. The manager said they were glad to have us but give him a heads up next time😂 guess there was some big shooting event going on there , were quite a few people running around mostly taking pics of our planes. Owner came to the table and thought it was awesome he had planes there.
