When I got back from Float Flying , I went back up to the river to play have a friend with A SC had never been up there so I let him ride in the back. Kept telling me no that’s to short to land on. When we got done he said I guess I have to buy a CC so I can do this. The last landing ended up rolling through some slick mud it went everywhere. Gators were as thick as I’ve ever seen. There was about 30 on the bank they all plowed in when I tryed to taxi to get a pic.
End of the day took my bride for a Stearman ride decides she gonna throw 🤦 her phone out @500’. We went out in the woods and found it (find my IPhone). Landed in a fresh burn not a scratch on it. Amazing!!

The FX3 really handles well at slow speeds with 2 people & 1/2 fuel didn’t have any problem matching her speed for the video.

Today was the first real test I have been able to do with the new acme aero fab gen 3
These shocks are a game changer. The more I flew them today the bigger smile I get
my office has a 200 ft parking lot open 3 sides. The first time landing I purposely dropped in from 3 feet. Non issue they soaked up the drop. Got stopped in 160 ft or so. Really had to use the bathroom and hadn't considered the office an appropriate airport.

My grandsons 2nd birthday today. I walked the corn field yesterday to see if usable to land there for his birthday cake
it's pretty rough from being tilled last fall. Made 4 landings there with the 29s at 8 psi. Like a smooth grass field. Incredible ride, and this is rough and cobby. I know the AOSS I had would have been much rougher.

After the birthday party I flew south to visit a farmer friend who has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It's not good. Hummocks and bumps in an unimproved pasture. Smooth as silk. He had a huge grin out the window when I parked on his front lawn. That's worth a lot to me, made possible by Black Ops shocks.
Send a check to the boys in NC you won't be sorry. Find a cc with them to try out for yourself and you will see I know I wont be the highest end user of these, but its great satisfaction to have a plane that can soak up most anything you throw at it and do it with a smile
I wonder how it would be possible to test these against the competition as to how much shock and forces act upon the airframe. It would be a lot more scientific than the seat of your pants and smile on face
Dont forget your T3 tail wheel

That’s awesome Jim!! Love it when people go out and use these things for what there made for. Should of noticed a big difference going to the 3” extended gear too.

Yes Chuck the 3 in gear sure allows you to climb on the brakes. We have had a nearly constant 10-14 mph wind from the North for 3 weeks now. Sometimes it helps, sometimes a pain in the backside.

You have to bring the gang to Maine Aug 4 weekend we are having a big get together, doing a fly in/fundraiser for Make a Wish/all you can eat lobster. A pack of cubs from Fl would be awesome.

    see you soon

    Jim

Was invited to stay the night at a hunting camp just south of Sun-N-Fun and they took my 2 sons turkey hunting. Yards a Little short trees and power lines at end one way in and out of the yard.
