I talked to Tim at the show and looked at his display FX2. A very nice clean plane. In fact I don't know if I've ever seen a flying airplane as clean as this one. Jim Richmond was showing me some exciting things on his phone too.

Tim had two things on his FX that caught my eye. One was his nice carbon fiber cargo pod. The other was the Acme Aero shock system. The maker, Eric, was there and explained how strong the system is and its race car pedigree. On my flight from ANC to SEA I sat next to another exhibitor and he told me a well known Alaska professional bush pilot has been putting this system to a rough real world test this summer and has been pleased with the performance.
I only put about four hours on it but my initial impression of the ACME was very good. My only gripe would be you can't feel the terrain when your dragging it. Which is important. Could probably adjust pressure for that. There was a guy competing with the Baringer gear there, watching it in action not sure I liked it I would have to go fly it looked like it bottomed out every time he landed.

Good one Glenn. Did you buy your J3 new too?

    I've been self-employed since 1981.

The snow in your picture looks almost like it does here today. A spring storm has brought us snow overnight.

I can't afford to fly my Cub up right now. I own 2 planes with one on floats and average anout 200 hrs a year. I have a strip and hangar in my back yard and a float pond 2 mil s down the road. I fly almost every day May thru Nov. I owe very little money in my Ex18 and own my house and hangar. Trying to buy the 40+ acre's around me right now. Never made more then 35k a year and I have no complaints. 4000+ Cub hrs so far, 940 hrs on floats. I think I've squeezed a buck pretty hard for the fun I've had.
