    Default EX2 Custom Panel Options

I would like to order a EX2 kit but specify a custom panel, what are the options?
I have a clear idea, but my preference is not an option on the order form.
Can you get CubCrafters to quote/build a custom panel?
Can you get another avionic supplier to install a custom panel from a supplied panel template?

I had Steinair make my panel and wire harnesses. The G3x Touch wasn't available yet from CC. I got the wire kit from CC ($2500 I think) and used Steinairs schematic along with the executive glass manual and a few calls to Mitch. If you go this way, be advised the CC wire kit assumes the CC panel layout so....some wire lengths may not work if your panel is significantly different.

    Example:
The wire to the alternator was 4 inches too short due to my CB location vs the CC location.

Nice panel, does CC still quote and supply the panel template?

    Default EX2 Custom Panel Options

Blank panel comes with the kit for fitting the boot cowl. You can use it or have another made. I used the kits panel as a backer and had the face plate made. I can unscrew the perimeter screws and pull the panel aft without taking the windscreen and boot cowl apart. Just removing the g3x gives good access behind the panel.

The factory panel will speed up the build significantly but at a cost.

Thanks Jake you have made up my mind, I will go with CC panel with only circuit breakers installed, but do the rest via alternative supplier.
Last question -what is a boot cowl?

The cowl that goes around your feet behind the engine cowl. Aft of the firewall vs fwd of the firewall. It encloses the front of the fuselage.
