Default Colorado and Utah Fall Flying Adventure!

    Calling all CubCrafters Owners!
Join us for a Rocky Mountain and Utah Canyonlands Backcountry Flying Adventure!
SunCountry Cubs is organizing a fall flying adventure for Carbon Cub, Sport Cub and Top Cub owners. We will be flying throughout the Front Range and Western Slopes of the Rockies, as well as the southwestern Canyonlands area of Utah!

Dates: September 27 to October 3

If you have never flown in this area of the country, it is spectacular! From grass strips and high mountain passes to gorgeous red rock and deep canyons, there are over 70 documented backcountry strips to explore!!

For the beginner as well as the experienced, there will be plenty of options for every pilot to choose from.

The package will include six nights of accommodations in two different backcountry lodges, meals catered at the ranches as well as catered lunches at backcountry strips, three educational sessions by a local experienced mountain flying CFI, pre-flight briefings each morning with suggestions for routes and strips, opportunities to fly behind the CFI and other experienced backcountry pilots, to help in decision making, a commemorative Polo shirt, and a professional Video for each participant documenting the full week!

This is a nonprofit event, and SunCountry Cubs is solely helping to organize it to the benefit of all participants. Any extra funds left over will be donated to the Recreational Aviation Foundation, to support their excellent work in preserving Backcountry Flying!

All flying and choice of landing strips will ultimately be the sole decision of each pilot, but there will be a wide range of options for all skill levels.

    Limited space available!

    Sorry Ken!
Forgot the dates! Just added them now. They will be on the flyer going out tonight as well. We will meet Sunday afternoon, September 27, at La Garita Ranch in Colorado, and will depart after B'fast on Saturday, October 3, from Gunnison River Farms, near Gunnison, Colorado.
    Hope you can make it!

    Rick

    Rick,
In the email it has $1900 per person, Quad occupancy at Gunnison. I didn't quite understand the Quad occupancy part.

    Hi Steve,
Gunnison River Farms is a very nice resort, but also quite small. They have very nicely appointed cabins, with two separate beds/sleeping areas on the main floor, and two separate beds up in a loft area, so they can sleep up to four.

Depending on the number of people we get to sign up, these cabins might have 3 or 4 people assigned to each one. Each cabin does have a private bathroom and shower.

For those that want to rough it more, there are camp/tent sites available. We have received an all inclusive price for the whole resort, including meals, so the price is fixed per attendee.

As for La Garita Ranch, they have considerably more cabin 'units', and its likely that there will be no more than two per unit, or even one.

Hope that helps answer your question! Let me know if you have any further ones….

    Rick
