Push & Pull

What's safe to push and pull on when moving the Carbon Cub on the ground?
The PA18 I have been flying has a handle on the rear of the fuselage.
What sort of tailwheel tools are in use by owners?
Anyone tried the "Taildragger Dragger"?
How about a piece of rope or a strap on the tailwheel?
All input will be cherished!!

I have a "Taildragger Dragger" -- love it!

I push out of the hanger with my hands on the wires on each side of the vertical stabilizer at the top and close to the stabilizer. I push in by walking against and hands pushing the horizontal stabilizer right near the fuselage. It really moves quite easily so never saw the need for a dragger.

Hi Bill,
When pushing from behind we put our hands on the flying wire fittings. Ensure that you don't push on the wires themselves, but on the upper fittings (towards top of rudder).
When pushinig the airplane backwards, we push on the front of the horizontal stabilizer, near the fuselage.

Alaska bushwheels sells a "bogi bar" tow bar made for their tailwheels .It is on their website. I carry one in my plane and they work great, can also be a lower back saver. Royce

my hanger ramp has a slight incline. When pushing the plane out I use the method discribed by Becky and steer by turning the rudder. For putting the plane back into the hanger I use the Tail Dragger Dragger and it works great. Very easy to use.
