I'll be there, its going to be very big this year (estimating 200 planes may arrive). The Motels are already booked as the STOL event and a Cattle Auction will be taking place that weekend but there are still some B&B's available. You will need to book soon for those. A large number folks camped out under their wings last year. I can lead you in the right direction for B&B's if you like, let me know.

Well it was a great time. Unfortunately the weather forecast kept me from flying my cub out. But Scot Warren called me up told me to fly commercial and he had a couple planes I could fly in the contest. So I hung out with Scot and Steve Vidal did some great local fyin and had a great weekend. Thanks Scot for the planes and the hospitality. Thanks Steve for makin this happen.

Re: Texas STOL Roundup - 2nd Annual
This 2nd annual Texas STOL Roundup event turned out to be fantastic!!
In-spite of unfulfilled weather forecasts (of doom and gloom), we had a strong showing of planes and people attending. A wide selection of great pilots from around the country including Randy Goza from Alaska (its a real treat to see him fly) were there and showing off some great skills.
From our CubCrafters community of pilots, Chuck Kinberger was a big winner! He won First Place over Obstacle Experimental Light Sport, First Place Experimental Light Touring, First Place Flour Bombing, and First Place Traditional STOL Light Sport.
Scot Warren had incredible runs but was edged out of 1st against Randy Goza in the SQ2 and had a couple very close DQ's.
I ended up with 3rd place in Traditional STOL Experimental Light Sport (I was very happy with that).
This event has got the legs to become something very big!!
Thanks to Chuck and Scot for a great time and great competition.
