I was able to get out for a little while this afternoon. This was the first flight on these carbon fiber straight skis.

After pushing the EX out of the hangar using Dolly's.

I didn't go too far from home base the first flight. Snow showers were coming and going all day.

I really like the performance of these straight skis. Acceleration was quick. Quick enough to set me back in the seat. With a temperature of about 10 F the density altitude computes to about sea level. I rarely see sea level performance and it is a blast.

These tall pedestals allow for a lot of angle of attack. I haven't had a chance to test them in deep powder yet but hopefully soon.

I used a winch mounted on the back hangar wall to pull it back in.

Looks like a good morning albeit a cold one your thermometer shows.

I got out for a while too on the straight skis. Not that often you can taxi right up to the gas pump on straights. We were a little warmer, in the teens.

Yes, Airglas LW2500's.

I still have those but the performance with straights was the draw.

I had these with my -18 and kept the gear legs and skis when I sold it.

Summits are ready to go. Enough snow in the foothills and mountains to play, hoping for a little more in the Champlain Valley over the weekend. Making ice at 8 below last night.
If you haven't seen summits up close they are a work of art (actually Mike)! Mike you were great to work with and they were delivered within hours of your commitment. Thank you.

I don't know much about Summits. Are they are retractable ski or wheel penetration? What is the weight?

The Summit skis are a wheel penetration ski made of carbon fiber. The LSA size ski weighs about 25 lbs. and the larger SS2300 ski weighs about 29 lbs per ski, both weights are with rigging and large Poly bottom skin.

I like the weights. My LW2500s are 45 each rigged. And my CF straights are 33 each.
