The plane, a Carbon Cub, attempted to land in the Cuyama river bed east of Santa Maria. The airplane is apparently based in the Phoenix area, and may have been returning after departing SBP. Fortunately there were no injuries. CubCrafters and federal authorities are investigating.

I have always felt the supercub is one thing mankind got right the first time but that there were better materials and methods to build them. CubCrafters products are proof I was right.

I've been informed by several sources that an oil pressure line failed. SB00025, issued 7/25/13, addresses this issue with a mandatory inspection protocol, and contains an optional oil pressure line upgrade that merits serious consideration by any CC11 owner s/n 0001 through 00280. See the owner support section on this website. Installation of the line upgrade eliminates the mandatory inspection routine.
