Default Extended Baggage Compartment Fabric Liner

    To all Carbon Cub owners:
I requested our Southwest Authorized Service Center, Lemac Aviation, to try to solve a problem that I had with gear sliding around in the back of my extended baggage area, due to the slick aluminum surface. In addtion, after just a few trips, the aluminum got scratched and scraped, and didnt look very nice for my Demo flights and at the Air Shows where I display the Carbon Cub!

After several rounds of development and trial and error, Matt has come up the perfect solution! See the pictures below. The fabric liner is light weight, custom cut, fitted, and sewn to stay away from binding the rudder cables or covering the tie down points. It has sections zippered together for ease of installation with a few pieces of velcro.... really nice!

Matt is considering ramping up production of these if there is interest out there, and possibly offering the finished product at the CubCrafters Store on-line.

Have a look and give us some feedback! And, if you are in the Phoenix area, we have installed it on a few Carbon Cubs and we would be happy to show you!

    Rick

I would love to have an option like this for my new #367 arriving the first of May. If I have a pet peeve with Carbon Cub fit and finish it would be with the extended baggage area.

I also ordered one of these and it is great. Really looks sharp and easy to install.

    Rick

How do I get one for SN 353? Please send me details......

I still think CubCrafters should do something to protect/cover the control cables in the extended part of the baggage area.......could be dangerous if something rubbed them the wrong way or got lodged in there...

I have a Lemac Aviation baggage protection system in my EX as well. It's a top quality product. The unique design that incorporates a hidden heavy duty zipper makes this liner easy to install and appear almost seamless. Finishes off the interior with a very professional look.
I have a smoke system in my EX and Lemac was able to customize my liner and accommodate the floor anchors in the front baggage area.
Great company and a great product.

I'm interested. What will it cost?

Thanks everyone for your input… seems there is indeed interest, and those that have one of the prototypes are happy with them. Let me talk to Matt and see how he would like to handle the inquiries.

    More shortly….

Any idea exactly how much weight it adds?
