CK-SB003 and CK-SB004 Released

Two new Service Bulletins CK-SB003 and CK-SB004 have been released that apply to the Carbon Cub EX.

CK-SB004 applies to aircraft equipped with the Cub Crafters CC340 engine or AeroSport Limited CC340 engine. These engines have a lighter magnesium accessory case installed. Due to the new accessory case, the oil temperature probe must be relocated due to a change in the oil flow path. The reading from the new probe location will reflect the mix of warm and cooled oil instead of only measuring the oil coming from the oil cooler. This service bulletin requires the relocation of the oil temperature probe so that the temperature indicated reflects the mixture of warm and cooled oil.

CK-SB003 relates to the cylinder head temperature (CHT) probes installed on aircraft with CGR-30P engine monitors. The CHT probes currently installed indicate lower temperatures than actual. This service bulletin requires the replacement of the CHT probes in order to indicate accurate cylinder head temperatures.

Revisions to CK-SB003 and CK-SB004 are now released. The changes affect only aircraft with standard panel installations; there are now instructions specific to this configuration. A letter will be sent out to the owners affected by these revisions.
