Fight training in my ELSA S2

My adult son would like to start flying lessons. I have offered him my ELSA S2 (at no cost). He would pay the CFI. According to the regs as I understand them a CFI can not instruct in an ELSA that he provides but an owner may receive instruction. It sounds to me that I need to give my son part ownership in my S2 in order to be legal.

I met Edsel Ford of the FAA at an ELSA maintenance class at Rainbow Aviation. He is a very knowledgeable man regarding ELSA and approachable. I would contact him.

Alex,I think you will be OK as long as no money changes hands for the airplane operation. Paying only the instructor for his/her services is all that you can do. Your airplane is not being used for a commercial operation and that is the critical distinction.Take care,John
