Thanks Dave,
i was worried about knife edging the holes by countersinking such thin material.
i appreciate the quick feedback.

If I were putting together a Cub today I think I'd leave the landing light out of the leading edge and find a small LED light bar and mount it either on the front of the lift strut near the tie-down ring running the wires inside the lift strut. Or on the cabane V. Two of these could be wired to WigWag too.
The leading edge cutout style is difficult to seal and and probably heavier. I did like the access to the LE though when I installed ADSB Out. With my belly pod obstructing the bottom side of the plane, I put the new blade-style transponder antenna on the bottom side of the LE and brought the coax through the nose ribs to the landing light position and then to the antenna.

I installed the dual wing landing lights but they are more recognition lights than useable landing and taxi lights. In the process of installing LED bar on canbane vee mounting points to get some useable lighting for landing and taxi. I’ll post some pics once completed.

Excellent input Dan! Helps me to think outside the box. BTW my nephew lives/works part time in NW MT. (Choteau).

Would it help to tip the top of of the bulb forward during installation of the light? One or both?
Would this make them more helpful for taxi, take off, landing?
