Vagabond accross the Plains

I am considering a trip from Idaho to Nebraska/S Dakota. I dream of camping on the prairie. I know weather can be an issue. Any advise?

You should do it. I fly through there all the time. Weather can be an issue but you can see it a long was off, and with XM weather you can just land before you come up on it.

Make sure you have super good tie-downs. It can blow like hell.
