Hello everyone!

I just joined the website and I represent over 100 collective years of engine building, testing, and installation experience here at Titan Aircraft Engines in San Antonio. Kevin Eldredge the new GM here has asked me to get connected and spend a little time each day doing what I can to help this group with any issue or questions about the engines in their airplanes.
If I don't have an answer I have a great team of experts I can go to throughout the Danbury Group of companies and get it for you.

My name is Bobby Looper I have been with ECI for 25 yrs.working with Airmotive Engineering, managing & operating our test cells. In the years I have been here I have run engine certification tests, break-in tests, oil tests, power tests, stress tests, abused and blown up hundreds of engines. I help develop; build, test and abuse the 340,370 & 409 family of engines. I also have been involved with all of the flight testing of these engines in our company RV-8.
I have been an aircraft mechanic since 1968 and have a SEL pilot rating. I will be the point man for Titan-Xpert, but we will have several other very qualified experts contributing as well.

Good question and thank you for posting.

Danbury Aerospace is actually a collection of 5 differenent companies, all workng together to design, manufacture, distribute, and assemble piston aircraft engines for the certified, LSA , and experimental markets. Serveral years ago ECi started "kitting" complete engine kits for the experimental market. This took off with several approved engines shops at first and over 1600 kits where sold over about 3 years. In about 2009 sales started to drop off and over the next few years the kit business reduced by over 50% from its height. In an effort to regain sales and to start to take control of the branding of the kit engine idea they started offering completed engines in early 2013. This idea took off and by the end of 2013 ECi, who was intended to be a distribution company, started feeling the strain of this new opportunity.

Jan. 10th, 2014 Danbury hired me to set up the new Titan Aircraft Engine business with the sole focus of building a new company to focus on building and testing engines for the LSA and experiemental market. The first task was to build a team to be able to reliability deliver engines for our customers. When I arrived ECi could build and run in about 1.5 engines per week. Now we can produce 4 per week and will soon be at our intial target production of 6.

How these changes will effect Cubcrafters Customers? Besides delivering engines in a timely manner to meet production schedules we are working to resolve some support issues, finalize documentation, and will deliver some new products for testing later this summer.

I hope this info helps everyone understand better what we are doing.
